O.D. 3-1/8", Upper Thread Type 2-3/4"-6Acme-2G, Lower Thread Type 2-3/4"-6Acme-2G, Top Subs for Perforating Guns

The O.D. 3-1/8" Top Subs are critical fittings of perforating gun systems that present a durable solution for the joining of a variety of subparts. Constructed with dual threading of the Acme threading type (Upper Thread Type 2-3/4"-6Acme-2G and Lower Thread Type 2-3/4"-6Acme-2G), the top subs offer a tight and stable fit with a stable and secure connection that plays a critical role in high-pressurized environments. The accurately manufactured design ensures superior operation during the operation of oil and gas well perforation with a tight and stable fit during the toughest downhole environments. Well completion and hydraulic fracturing processes suit the top subs perfectly that integrate with the perforating gun system perfectly.

    Material

Manufactured with superior alloy steel, the O.D. 3-1-1/8" Top Subs are rugged and durable in construction. The application of the use of the alloy steel lies in the superior tensile strength and the resistance it possesses against pressurized environments and against corrosion. The steel also goes through a heat treatment that enhances hardness and fatigue life such that it will be long-lasting and durable withstanding harsh operational environments. The final construction of the material ensures stable and durable operation throughout the operational life of the perforating gun system.

    Production Processes

    1. Forging: The top sub steel billets are forged at the beginning into the general top sub shape. This operation forms the basis of the top sub strength.
    2. Machining: Using computer-controlled technology the sub is machined with the correct thread dimension and the correct tolerance so that it fits perfectly.
    3. Heat Treatment: The machinable part undergoes a heat treatment operation with the aim of strengthening the hardness, fatigue strength, and overall strength of the material.
    4. Thread Cutting: The top and lower threads (2-3/4"-6Acme-2G) are accurately cut with great precision in order to offer a good interface between the components.
    5. Surface Finishing: The topmost subs get ground and smooth finished not to harbor any thread faults or surface anomalies that will influence the performance.

    Quality Test & Inspection

Prior to shipping, each O.D. 3-1/8" Top Sub is subjected to strict testing in order to assure the highest standards of quality:
    • Dimensional Inspection: The subs are subjected to rigorous checks so that the dimension and threading will match strict standards.
    • Pressure Testing: The subs are subjected to pressure tests simulating real life and stabilizing them at elevated pressures.
    • Material Testing: Material testing ensures that the material has the strength and longevity it requires and also wear and corrosion resistance.
    • Thread Inspection: Threads are tested with the help of micrometers and gauges so that they fit and align perfectly with minimal probability of failure.

    Key Features

    • Dual Acme Threads: The top and lower 2-3/4" through 6Acme-2G threads provide a tight and smooth fitment.
    • Alloy Steel Building: The stronger steel has a stronger defense against the harsh environments of natural and oil gas well perforation.
    • Heat-Treated for Strength: The heat treatment enhances hardness and fatigue life, making the top subs last longer in harsh environments of high stresses.
    • Precision Machined: CNC machining ensures that every part will be a perfect fit with no room for installation error.

    Industry Applications

The 3-1/8" top sub O.D. has general application in the natural gas and the oil industry and specifically in
    • Perforating Gun Systems: Delivers faultless connections that enable easy operation of the perforating guns during maintenance and well completing.
    • Hydraulic Fracturing Operations: They design the top subs that can tolerate the rugged high-pressure environment of the hydraulic fracturing operation and the operation stability.
    • Well Completion and Stimulation: Provides an integral interface with the perforating gun systems used during the operation of the deep wells.

    Packaging and Storage

O.D. 3-1/8" top subs are packed with protecting covering during shipping so that they don't get physically damaged during shipping. They need to be stored in a temperature-controlled environment with a drying area in the highest life and avoid any probability of rusting. They need to be shielded against chemicals and moisture so that they stay stable and strong until the installation period.

    Shipment

Once the O.D. 3-1/8" Top Subs clear the tests and checks of the assurance of quality program, they're packed with careful attention and sent to the site required. Clients are notified of the order status and supplied with the shipping record of the track for easy follow-through of the shipping operation. The subs arrive on schedule and are use immediately within the perforating gun system with minimal downtime within critical operation.
