Production Processes
The O.D. 3-1/8" Bottom Sub is manufactured with a set of highly regulated processes that allow it to perform at the highest standard:
1. Forging: The starting place of the process involves the application of top-quality alloy steel forged into the general shape of the lower sub. This will harden the metal and set it up for additional machining.
2. CNC Machining: The item is subsequently machined with the aid of the latest CNC technology that ensures the correct dimension and thread tolerance.
3. Thread Cutting: The 2-3/4" - 6Acme-2G threading is properly cut so that it will fit closely with the remaining set of the perforating gun components.
4. Heat Treatment: The lower sub receives a heat treatment that increases the hardness and wear resistance of the part and makes it suitable for abusive downhole environments.
5. Surface Finishing: Final machining and surface treatment processes leave the bottom sub free and faultless of any faults that will affect the operation of the sub.
Quality Test & Inspection
Each O.D. 3-1/8" Bottom Sub has undergone strict controls:
• Dimensional Accuracy: The external diameter and threading dimension are compared against rigorous standards with the intention of a flawless fit.
• Pressure Testing: The lowermost unit experiences pressurized testing that simulates the harsh environments it will encounter in the subsurface.
• Material Testing: The hardness of the steel, tensile strength, and corrosion resistance are guaranteed against the standards of the industry.
• Thread Integrity Check: The quality of the threads is assured with the aid of specialized tools and instruments in line with the standards of good connections and seals of high-performance.
Key Features
• High Strength and Durability: Made of rust and corrosion-resistant heat-treated steel with superior strength and hardness.
• Precise Thread Designing: The 2-3/4"-6Acme-2G thread ensures a tight and stable interface with the balance of the perforating gun
• Pressure Resistance: Designed to withstanding high-pressure environments that are normally found in oil and gas wells.
• Reliable Performance: Design with a preference of working reliably in harsh environments with constant and dependable operation in perforation activities.
• Customizable: Available in an array of sizes and lengths suitable for specific perforating gun configurations.
Industry Applications
• Oil & Gas Drilling Operations: Bottom Sub O.D. 3-1/8" has been widely used in the perforating gun systems of the oil and gas drilling and development processes.
• Well Stimulation: It is crucial in perforating wells to initiate fluid flow, ensuring successful well stimulation processes.
• Hydraulic Fracturing: The device plays an integral part in hydraulic fracturing processes and aids in the smooth perforation of the casing for follow-on fracturing processes.
Packaging and Storage
To ensure the O.D. 3-1/8" Bottom Sub arrives in optimal condition, it is carefully packaged in durable protective materials to prevent scratches, dents, or other damage during transport. For storage, it should be kept in a dry, clean environment to avoid corrosion. Proper storage practices ensure the sub remains in top condition for its intended use.
Shipment
Once production has been finalized and passed the quality-control tests, the lower sub is packed and sent to the customer with assurance of shipping options that allow it to be sent promptly with track and tracing capabilities provided for complete visibility. The sub will be specially packed during shipping to ensure it will arrive in a state of instant installation readiness within the perforating gun assemblies.
