O.D. 2", Thread Type 1-11/16-8 STUB ACME-2G, Bottom Sub for Perforating Guns
Material
Crafted from top-grade alloy steel, the 2" Bottom Sub is designed with the harsh pressures and wear and tear typical of downhole environments in mind. The steel that goes into making it is subjected to a heat-treatment that improves strength, resistance against corrosion and fatigue. This results in the bottom sub being highly resistant and capable of withstanding the entire life of the perforating guns without any deterioration of performance. The metal is specifically chosen based on mechanical properties that include superior tensile strength and hardness and good resistance against corrosion and wear and tear.

Production Processes
The manufacturing of the Bottom Sub 2" O.D. follows a strict and rigorous standard that guarantees the item's longevity and reliability.
Forging: The first operation involves the shaping of the alloy steel into the required shape and this also increases the strength of the metal.
CNC Machining: The forged part is then CNC machined according to the specifications required. This ensures that the threads, the diameter and any additional critical features are correctly manufactured.
Thread Cutting: The 1-11/16"-8 STUB ACME-2G threading cuts with great precision with the aid of hi-tech threading machines so that they fit the respective fittings perfectly.
Heat Treatment: The sub also receives a heat treatment that further raises the hardness, tensile strength and wear and corrosion resistance of the sub.
Finishing: The sub is cleaned and sharpening with the goal of removing any radiused cutting edges and giving smooth interfacing with the rest of the perforating system.
Quality Test & Inspection
Before shipment, each Bottom Sub O.D. 2" will be subjected to a thorough testing and inspection program that will assure it adheres to the trade standards and customer specifications:
Dimensional Accuracy: The subs get gauged so that they will fit the tight tolerances that will enable them to thread and fit perfectly.
Pressure Testing: The submerges through a set of pressure tests that mimic the operation higher-than-downhole pressure.
Material Testing: The tensile strength and hardness of the steel alloy are tested in order to be functional in a pressurized environment.
Thread Inspection: The threading is also checked with specialized tools in order to be properly aligned and fit perfectly correctly. The faults are also rectified before shipping approval of the sub.
Key Features
Durable Alloy Steel Building: The heavy duty alloy steel build guarantees the lower sub resists harsh environments of the downhole such as pressurized environments.
Precision Machining: CNC machined with tight tolerances for the superior fit and functional application within the perforating gun system.
STUB ACME Thread Type: The 1-11/16"-8 STUB ACME-2G has a tight and reliable fit and will not rotate during use.
Heat-Treated for Increased Strength: The heat treatment increases the hardness of the material and resists wear and tear and extends the life of the material.
Customizable Lengths: Provided in a variety of lengths based on the specific needs of each perforating gun design.
Industry Applications
Oil & Gas Industry: Most widely used in oil and gas drilling perforating guns, specifically in drilling of the high-pressure downhole environments.
Hydraulic Fracturing: The lower sub constitutes part of the system of the hydraulic fracturing that guarantees a strong connection among the perforating part of fracking processes.
Well Completion and Well Care: Essential in well completing tools for smooth and safe maintenance and perforation of the well.
Packaging and Storage
The O.D. 2" Bottom Sub comes with shipping mediums of either foam inserts or shrink wrap that will not subject the sub to shipping damage. The sub also ships in heavy crates in a try at protecting it during shipping. The sub will need warehoused in a cold and arid environment so that it does not rust. The part will need physical guarding of the threads that it will need in order to perform correctly properly.
Shipment
Once the O.D. 2" Bottom Sub has been properly examined, it is correctly packed and sent to the customer. Shipping is carried with trusted shipping partners with the aim of it reaching the customer within the stipulated timeline. Shipping tracing is carried with the aim of acquiring the highest visibility during shipping. The sub is sent with good care properly with the aim of it being in the highest state of usage during the perforating operation.
