O.D. 2-7/8", Upper/Lower Thread Type 2-3/8"-6Acme-2G, Tandem Subs for Perforating Guns
Material
Constructed of superior-grade alloy steel, the 2-7/8" tandem subs are specially designed with abusive downhole environments in place. The metal has been specially selected with regard to wear-resisting properties, HP strength at higher pressures and temperatures and strength maintenance at temperature extremes. The subs also undergoes rigorous heat treatment processes that further enhance the strength of the subs such that the part will be reliable with multiple cycles of perforating.
The 2-3/8"-6Acme-2G threading also enhances the strength of the sub against torque and prevents it from getting damaged during installation and operation.

Production Processes
The design of the Tandem Sub encompasses a rigorous and multi-step process that guarantees the highest operation:
Material Selection and Forging: The higher strength alloy steel is forged and made into the original shape with an intrinsic strength that will not need reinforcement.
Machining & Thread Forming: The subs get machined with the required 2-3/8"-6Acme-2G threading with good accuracies and then tested with regard to smooth and consistency.
Heat Treatment: The sub also undergoes a heat treatment that hardens and fortifies it against the stresses of the environment of temperatures and pressures that are highly elevated.
Finishing & Polishing: Fine polish added to enable smooth interfacing with the rest of the system with minimal friction and with the highest results.
Quality Control & Inspection: The sub is dimensionally examined and tested against the specification standards required of the performance specification properly.
Quality Test & Inspection
To assure the consistency of every Tandem Sub, a variety of tests are performed during manufacturing:
Thread Integrity Test: The consistency of acme threads' fit is tested for accuracy such that the subs will fit within the perforating system with the threat of stripping the thread removed.
Pressure Testing: The subs are put through high-pressure testing in preparation to perform at the harsh conditions of the anticipated downhole application.
Material Testing: The fatigue and strength of the material are tested and found capable of withstanding the mechanics of the stresses of deep-well perforating.
Surface Finish Inspection: The surface is inspected against any faults that might put the sub at risk during installation and use.
Key Features
Precision Threads: The 2-3/8" 6Acme-2G threading system will be a tight and firm fitment and will not leak and will not fail.
High Durability: Constructed of premium-grade alloy steel and wear-resistant treatment, such subs are highly resistant and durable and will be able to take a few good perforations.
High Pressure Resistance: The subs are designed with the strength of withstanding high-pressure environments and working with consistency in the harsh of well environments.
Efficient Installation: The machining and threading of the sub perfectly enable it to be easily and effectively integrated with the remaining perforating gun system pieces.
Long-Term Performance: The subs' operation in the harsh environment has been endured with a heat treatment that has made them perform steadily with few replacements throughout the years.
Industry Applications
The 2-7/8" O.D. tandem subs with 2-3/8" - 6Acme
Oil and Gas Perforating: Used in the combination of perforating gun sections of the vertical and horizontal wells.
Geothermal Wells: Well-suited for high-temperature usage with longevity in harsh environments.
Well Completion and Stimulation: Essential in perforating the well casings during the completion and the stimulation of the oil and natural gas production processes.
Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking): Guaranteeing stable perforations that perform a crucial duty in the operation of unconventional reservoir fracturing.
Packaging and Storage
The subs need to be properly packed and contained in shock-resistant containers for safe shipping and maintenance of integrity. The containers will be such that they will not be damaged during shipping or handling. The subs need to be stored in a cool and dry environment with good ventilation, avoiding moisture and harsh temperatures that might corrupt the steel and lower the quality of the subs.
Shipment
Tandem subs ship in adherence with the standards of the relevant shipping regulations of the hazardous material shipping industry. Shipping containers are tied and sealed to avoid any shifting during shipping. The customer receives shipping information so that the sub reaches them quickly and with ease. Careful treatment is important in preserving the thread consistency of the sub during shipping.
