O.D. 2-7/8", Thread Type 2-3/8"-6Acme-2G, Bottom Sub for Perforating Guns
Material
Made from superior-grade alloy steel and specifically chosen based on strength and resistance against corrosion, the 2-7/8" Bottom Sub has the strength and the fatigue life of the steel further developed during a heat treatment that also improves the hardness of the metal. The bottom sub becomes resistant and durable and suitable enough to perform during the high-stress and the high-pressure environments that dominate during the activities of perforating.

Production Processes
The manufacturing of Bottom Sub O.D. 2-7/8" includes a sophisticated set of processes that enable the attainment of the highest standard and real performance:
1. Forging: Alloy steel is forged with great care to forge the lower sub foundation structure, a process that also hardens the middle of the metal.
2. CNC Machining: The forged steel has been machined with CNC technology and has the correct dimension and thread forms and surface treatments such that they fit exactly into the perforating gun systems.
3. Thread Cutting: The 2-3/8" 6Acme-2G threads are accurately cut with the added stipulation that the sub-threads fit the matching pieces perfectly.
4. Heat Treatment: The lower sub receives a heat treatment that increases hardness, tensile strength, and overall resilience against harsh environments.
5. Surface Finishing: The last operation includes smoothing and deburring the sub and providing it with smooth boundaries and a clean surface that ensures smooth operation during use.
Quality Test & Inspection
Each O.D. 2-7/8" Bottom Sub goes through rigorous tests of highest standards of quality assurance:
• Dimensional Inspection: The external diameter and the threading of the sub perfectly match the tight dimension required.
• Pressure Testing: The sub goes through tests at high pressures to mimic the downhole environment and check the strength of the substructure.
• Material Strength Tests: The tensile strength, fatigue strength, and hardness of the material are subjected to testing so that it will be functional at the toughest of times.
• Thread Integrity Inspection: The use of specialized thread measuring tools ensures that the threads will be properly cut and will effectively function once they're in use.
Key Features
• Robust Construction: Made of heavy strength alloy steel that has been strengthened with additional strength and rust-resistance.
• Precise Thread Designing: The 2-3/8" 6Acme-2G thread ensures a tight and reliable fit in perforating gun assemblies and diminishes the chance of failure during critical operation.
• Versatile Use: Compatible with a variety of perforating gun configurations, the lower sub is versatile enough to suit different needs of the well.
• High Pressure Resistance: Robust enough to sustain the rigorous temperature and pressure environment of the oil and gas wells.
• Long-Lasting Durability: Designing the tools to last withstanding repeated use in abusive downhole environments with longevity and minimal maintenance needs.
Industry Applications
• Oil & Gas Drilling: The Bottom Sub O.D. 2-7/8" has primary application in the application of perforating systems in the drilling and production of oil and gas wells activities.
• Hydraulic Fracturing: This plays a crucial part in the functioning of the hydraulic fracturing tools and ties the perforating tools with the remaining downhole tools together.
• Well Completion: Applied during the processes of well completion, providing a smooth and effective perforation of the casing for future well stimulation activities.
Packaging and Storage
The O.D. 2-7/8" Bottom Sub is properly packed not to be damaged during shipping. The sub is placed in heavy duty protecting boxes not scratch and any surface scratches during shipping. The part has to be placed in a clean cold environment not rust and not physically injure the threads. The sub has to be placed in a position that will not expose it to any opportunity of shock and moisture.
Shipment
Once quality testing has been completed, the O.D. 2-7/8" Bottom Sub is properly packed and shipped to the customer. Shipping includes the use of reputable shipping partners that ship the part promptly and with a good level of security. The customer receives shipping information so that they will be fully notified of the shipping status and the part will be properly sent and in a use-compatible state for perforating processes.
