Cold-forged or Cold-extruded Mechanical Disk

The cold-forged and cold-extruded mechanical disc is a highly performant part widely employed in industrial applications. Prepared by careful cold-forging and cold-extrusion process, these discs have been made for providing exceptional durability, reliability, and tensile strength. For mechanical assemblies, gear systems, and automobiles, these discs have been made for weathering highly stress-bearing environments along with exceptional performances.

    Material

Mechanical disks are made of tensile-strength materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and steel alloys. The material is selected depending on the desired disk attributes:
    • Carbon Steel is an economical solution of extreme durability and excellent strength under normal usage.
    • Alloy Steel is characterized by its excellent mechanical properties, such as enhanced abrasion-resistant properties and enhanced toughness, for its corresponding usage in hard-duty functions.
    • Stainless Steel is selected for usage in which a great amount of corrosion is needed, for example, in sea environments or in chemical processing.

    Specifications

    • Material Types: Alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel
    • Diameter: Customizable for tailored requirements of an application
    • Thickness: Tailored thickness in relation to mechanical loading and utilization
    • Surface Finish: Provided in textured, or best-performing smooth, finishes
    • Hardness: Typically between 45-60 HRC, which is great for its durability against wear.
    • Tolerances: Manufactured in proximity tolerance so these discs can precisely locate in the assembly
    • Temperature Range: Engineered for operation in extreme temperature ranges between -30°C and 300°C, depending on material.

    Production Processes

    1. Cold Forging: Metal is cold forged in room temperature under a great amount of pressure, which forms a disk of enhanced mechanical properties. The material is compacted and is made stronger, and so, the disk is highly resistant when it is under loading.
    2. Cold Extrusion: In cold extrusion, when a process wherein a piece of metal is forced through a die in a forming process, a disk of predetermined shape and polished surface finish is developed, reducing post-processing.
    3. Machining: After shape forming, secondary machining in the forms of milling and turning is performed in an attempt to have a highly developed end size and a fine-quality surface.
    4. Surface Treatment: For greater corrosion resistance or enhanced appearances, discs may undergo treatments of plating such as zinc plating, galvanization, or polishing.

    Quality Test and Inspection

Each mechanical disc is carefully followed by a process of stringent industry standard-quality assurance so it can pass.
    • Dimensional Inspection: The disk compared in size relative to predetermined tolerance for best size and operation.
    • Material Testing: Chemical testing and mechanical testing of material properties is being done for material composition verification and material strength.
    • Hardness Testing: Disk hardness is tested in such a way so disk stress-resistance requirements in stress-laden environments can be met.
    • Visual Inspection: The disk is examined for its blemish, crack, or surface imperfections which may impact its structural stability or functionality.
    • Load Testing: The discs are test loaded in a simulated usage scenario and test for stress durability.

    Key Features

    • High Durability: The cold-forced and cold-extruded discs have greater fatigue and strength, which lead to lasting performance.
    • Precise Geometry: With critical tolerance, these discs provide an ideal balance in mechanical systems, reducing opportunities for malfunction.
    • Corrosion Resistance: The stainless steel grades boast excellent corrosion-resistant properties, making them perfect for extreme environments.
    • Versatility: These discs can be extensively customised in a wide range of mechanical and industrial purposes.
    • Cost-Effective: The cold-foraging and cold-extrusion process is material-waste-reducing and material-efficient, making it a cost-effective process.

    Industry Applications

Cold-forged or cold-extruded mechanical discs have widespread applications in industries like:
    • Automotive: In transmissions, braking systems, and clutches, in which durability and precision have to be extreme.
    • Heavy Machinery: In axles, gears, and support bearings of machines in cranes, excavators, and in buildings.
    • Manufacturing: Employed in press systems, pumps, and valves, which require stringent parts able to sustain constant operation.
    • Aerospace: Utilized in such critical systems as landing gears and gas turbine engines, for which durability and reliability must take priority.

    Packaging and Storage

Mechanical disks should be packed carefully in a protective material so as not to physically be damaged in transport. Protective packaging materials can be plastic covers and foam inserts. Storage in a dust-free, dry place is critical in avoiding corrosion, in case of stainless steel models, and preserving mechanical properties.

    Shipment

We ensure timely and secure delivery based on various options depending on customer requirements. We have all of our deliveries comply with international packaging requirements for keeping disk in a secure location for their journey. We track all of our orders so there is complete transparency and ownership of delivery process.
