Cold-forged or Cold-extruded Crosshairs
Material
Crosshairs are constructed using stainless steel of high-strength material, along with tungsten alloys, which have been chosen for stability in environmental conditions and for durability. The stainless steel provides it with durability, along with corrosion-resistance, and the tungsten alloys provide it with excellent abrasion-resistance, making it ideal for stress-bearing environments. The materials go through cold-forcing and cold-extruding in a process for improved mechanical properties so each crosshair can perform when in action.

Production Processes
1. Cold Forging: The material is cold shaped under extreme stress, which makes it stronger and more resistant to abrasion without being heated. The process is minimal in material loss and enhances mechanical properties of crosshair.
2. Cold Extrusion: The material is highly, mass-produced by being driven under pressure through a die, adopting its desired shape. The process can achieve uniform size and polished surfaces for optical transparency.
3. Finishing & Machining: The crosshairs are machined under stringent tolerance in a process. The surfaces are polished for transparency, and other treatments (i.e., coatings) are applied for additional protection.
4. Heat Treatment (if required): Some of these crosshairs can go through a process of heat treatment for hardening and improving wear-resistance, especially for enhanced performance.
Quality Test and Inspection
• Dimensional Checks: The component is checked for its size and tolerance levels.
• Visual Inspection: The optical transparency and surface blemish is carefully controlled in an effort of attaining best standard.
• Material Integrity Tests: Tests for material validation of resistance against abrasion, corrosion, and environmental factors.
