Direct Connect Subs, Orienting Subs, Bull Plugs, and other subs for Perforating Guns
Material
These subs are built with the strongest of wear- and corrosion-resistant and highest of pressure-withstanding alloys of either steel or tungsten carbide. The subs' materials are specifically developed with the toughest of the downhole environment and the chemical stresses and temperature extremes and mechanical stresses that they will be exposed to. The subs' materials will be strong enough to withstand the stresses of critical activities within the wellbore and be dependable and perform reliably.
Specifications
• Material: High-strength steel alloy with optional tungsten carbide application
• Types Available:
1. Direct Connect Subs -Used to connect the perforating guns with no additional pieces required.
2. Orienting Subs – Specially designed for orienting the perforating guns in a specific direction with a particular perforation design.
3. Bull Plugs - Seal fluids during the operation of the well with tight seals
• Thread Types: Customizable, depending on perforating gun requirements, including Acme threads, API connections, or proprietary thread designs.
• Size Options: Custom fit with applicability with a variety of models of perforating guns and 1.5" through 7" bore sizes
• Pressure Rating: Strongly pressurized and capable of use in deep borewells.
• Temperature Resistance: Its working temperature at which it will be at 450°F (232°C) and with specialized options at elevated temperatures.
Production Processes
1. Forging & Machining: The subs get machined and forged with top-quality carbide and steel and properly machined with the help of the latest CNC technology. This guarantees correct fit and excellent dimensionality.
2. Threading: Depending on the subtype, it is done with careful attention in making leakage-proof and reliable connections that fit closely within the system of the perforating gun.
3. Heat Treatment: The metal goes through a heat treatment that raises the hardness, tensile strength, and fatigue life of the metal.
4. Coating: Some of the subs receive an additional resistant-to-corrosion coating and further protect the item against chemical and saline environment degradation.
Quality Test & Inspection
Every sub goes through a rigorous quality assurance program:
• Dimensional Checks: Verification that the entire dimensioning adheres to the rigorous standards that will enable an adequate fit within the perforating systems.
• Thread Inspection: Stringent testing of threading consistency to create tight and tight connections that don't allow leakage during operation.
• Pressure Testing: The subassemblies encounter the stresses they will be exposed to in the wellbore during a simulation of a pressure testing.
• Material Integrity: Stress and fatigue tests identify the strength of the material that resists the harsh environments of the oil and gas recovery processes.
Key Features
• Customizable Designs: We offer a variety of thread varieties and sizes based on the project specification of a particular project.
• Enhanced Durability: They incorporate heat-treated alloy steel or tungsten carbide models that they design with the harsh environment of deep well usage in mind.
• Leak-Free Performance: Bull Plugs and subs with seals utilize a proven seal that prevents the occurrence of the potentially-expensive leakage of fluids during perforating activities.
• Precise Alignment: The Orienting Sub has the ability of aligning the perforating gun at the angle of the greatest required perforation effect.
• High-Pressure and High-Temperature Resistance: They are built with the strength of withstanding harsh wellbore environments of higher temperatures and pressures.
Industry Applications
These subs are used in a cross-section of large-scale industries such as
• Oil and Gas: Essential in wellbore operation assemblies of perforating activities
• Well Completion and Service Well: Applied in the correct placement usage, linking and glanding during perforating and other vital activities of the well.
• Subsea and Deep Well Applications: Suitable use in pressurized and temperature environments of offshore drilling processes.
• Oilfield Equipment Supply: Most ideally adapted with any type of downhole tool assemblies with guaranteed support within the system of perforating guns.
Packaging and Storage
To ensure they arrive and get stashed away correctly, the subs get packed individually with heavy shipping containers and foam covers. We highly recommend the subs be put in a cold and dry environment with no corrosives if they're not immediately used. Protective coatings will not be affected if they're set correctly and will keep the subs functional if and when they're needed.
